Join us for drinks, conversation and fun along hot and hoppin' Burlington at Madera's, located at 3 Main Street Landing. This is a great opportunity to get to know some Cornell alumni.

Fall Family Picnic on the Mad River

Our gracious hosts, Scott, Pat, Jackie and Walter Sainsbury open up their sprawling Moretown, Vermont farm for another fantastic BBQ (if you've joined us before, you know that Pat and Jackie are superb chefs!)
But that's not all - there will be hay rides, bocce ball, croquet and other fun activities for kids and adults alike. We may even have a tractor pull and a neat hike for nature aficionados.
So bring your big red spirit, family and friends to join us for some fall fun!
Please also bring a dish to pass: salads, appetizers, desserts and sides are all welcome.

This year, we're pleased to host two Zinck's Nights - one in Shelburne at The Bearded Frog, owned and operated by Michel Mahe, '87, and another at Waterbury Wings in Waterbury. You're invited to join the Cornell Club of Vermont for our first annual alumni book club.
Cornell's incoming class and much of the rest of the Cornell community read Gary Wills' Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Lincoln at Gettysburg: The Words That Remade America , as part of the 2008-2009 New Student Reading Project. The Cornell Club of Vermont invites you to join in a local discussion of this work while reflecting on your own studies on The Hill.

Holiday Scholarship Party and Celebration

We invite you to our 2008 holiday celebration at the Echo Science Center- a night to celebrate Cornell and to raise funds for the new Cornell Club of Vermont scholarship fund. This will be a gala event!

Elmore Mountain Bread Tour

Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of Elmore Mountain Bread. Owners Blair Marvin and Andrew Heyn will show us the craft of kneading, shaping and baking bread while discussing local and organic ingredients. Elmore Mountain Bread is distributed locally to grocery stores, restaurants and farmer's market. Come dressed comfortably (the oven is hot!) and bring some wine or cheese to share. A Day at the Museum

Bring your kids (and the young at heart) for a group tour of one of Burlington's most exciting and interactive museums. ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center features 70 species of live fish, amphibians, invertebrates, and reptiles, over 100 interactive experiences, seasonal changing exhibits and events, and the Ecology, Culture, History, and Opportunity for stewardship of the Lake Champlain Basin. Ticket price is $7 for Adults (18+) and $4.50 for youth (3-17). Watch your email for date and time of this event.

Vermont Tours and Speaker Series

We're putting together some tours of local businesses - wineries, chocolatiers, etc. - as well as planning our very own version of Cornell's newest student tradition - Slope Day. Slope Day is an end-of-semester celebration that takes place on Libe Slope each year. We'll also host yet another wonderful Cornell professor as part of out Speaker Series event.
